Jurnal Ilmiah Guru Madrasah (JIGM) was originally established as a collaborative initiative between Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Pidie and the Pidie Regency Ministry of Religion Office, serving as a vital scholarly outlet for the pedagogical community—particularly for madrasah educators at the Ibtidaiyah, Tsanawiyah, and Aliyah levels.
Since 2023, JIGM has been managed by LaKaspia (Aceh Institute for Social and Political Studies), a respected institution with a longstanding reputation for research in socio-political studies, conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and education. Founded on December 10, 1999, LaKaspia underwent organizational restructuring on October 4, 2022 (Registration No. AHU-0010506.AH.01.07.YEAR 2022).
Now under LaKaspia’s stewardship, JIGM has expanded its mission to serve as an inclusive platform for disseminating scholarly insights, research findings, and innovative practices from all fields of education. The journal publishes original research articles, classroom action research, comprehensive literature reviews, and best practices contributed by educators, teachers, academics, practitioners, and experts from all types of educational institutions—including madrasahs, general schools, pesantren, and non-formal learning environments—both within Indonesia and internationally.
Upholding rigorous academic standards, JIGM is published biannually, with issues released in the January–June and July–December periods. All submissions undergo a thorough double-blind peer review process by experts in the relevant fields. To ensure academic integrity and originality, every article must successfully pass a plagiarism check using Turnitin, maintaining a Similarity Index below 25%.
